What is NMN?
Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is a naturally occurring compound in the body that plays a vital role in how cells use energy.
It is involved in the synthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), a coenzyme in cells that is essential for converting energy from nutrients into a form cells can use. Nicotinamide mononucleotide increases NAD which in turn activates a protein called SIRT1 to promote healthy metabolism throughout the body.
Application of NMN
- Delaying aging
NMN is believed to enhance energy production within cells, improving cell function and repair mechanisms by converting it into the coenzyme NAD+ (nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide). This increase in NAD+ levels may help slow the cellular aging process.
- Improve energy metabolism
NMN can promote mitochondrial function, prompting the body to produce energy more efficiently. It increases fat oxidation and glycogen synthesis, which may help reduce body fat storage.
And efficient energy metabolism can help burn more calories and fat, helping to maintain a healthy weight. When the energy metabolism rate is high, your body is able to consume more energy even at rest.
- Improve athletic performance
NMN is believed to increase athletic ability and endurance, and accelerate the body’s recovery process.
- Enhance cognitive function
Efficient energy metabolism (NMN improves energy metabolism) can provide sufficient energy to support brain function. This may help improve attention, concentration, and cognitive ability.
NMN has a positive effect on brain function, helping to improve memory, learning, and attention.
